Computer Jobs Stage a Comeback; Computer Schools Get Busy

Computer Jobs Stage a Comeback; Computer Schools Get Busy

Martin David

Yes, the news is indeed good. The computer industry is climbing back out of the hole it fell into in 2001. There are more computer jobs available now than there have been at any time in the past three years. Computer schools are reporting a significant rise in registration as more and more people seek professional computer training.

What does this mean to you? Well, if you have thought about a career change, now may be the time to start your computer training.

The Apogee of Outsourcing May be Over

Part of the upswing in American high technology employment is a backlash to outsourcing. Many of the computer jobs that went to India, Russia, and China are coming back to the U.S.

High tech companies are discovering that - though there is good computer training abroad - the commitment to quality is much higher at home. They have found out that, even though overseas computer schools may be good, they are not always able to teach students to be quality conscious.

It may be cheaper to have the work done overseas, but when it comes to making commercial software for an international market, quality is of vital importance.

Computer Training Schools Experience Record Enrollment

Computer schools are not the only institutions noticing the change in the high tech industry. American colleges and universities say that the good news in the computer jobs market is reflected by a noticeable increase in the number of students seeking degrees that include strong computer training.

While some of these students are pursuing degrees in computer science, others are adding practical courses such as software programming, quality assurance training, and database administration to their liberal arts majors.
