Are You an A+ Computer Technician?

It is a wonderful step in the right direction that the computer world has recognized that so many excellent computer technicians have acquired their knowledge through experience rather than in-class time.

What company is the A+ certification associated with?

That is one of the great things about A+ certification. It is a certification that recognizes a wide base of general computer knowledge and not just the use of specific software or operating systems.


To successfully complete an A+ exam, you should be well versed in basic hardware, operating systems, installations, configurations, diagnosis, preventative maintenance and basic network operations.

How can I tell if I'm ready?

Since there is something of a cost involved in taking the A+ exam, there are several ways and places where you can take A+ practice tests. Some institutions will charge for administering an A+ practice test.

There are also books that can be purchased and internet sites that give outlines and sample A+ practice tests.

Maybe I'm not as ready as I thought.... Now what?

If you have determined that A+ certification is a venue that you would like to pursue, but the A+ practice test proved considerably more challenging than you had anticipated, have no fear. There are many educators who have developed courses to assist you in preparation for taking an A+ exam.


Both online and site-based programs are available, so you can choose which learning method is best for you. Many of these programs include the A+ examination as well. I have found A+ certification to be an exciting innovation, and am very pleased to introduce you to such a great opportunity.
